COVID-19 Information for Donors
Updated guidance June 2022:
- As with other infections, if you or anyone in your household develops any respiratory symptoms it is important that you let us know as soon as possible and that you note the dates on your checklist.
- If you have any respiratory symptoms or positive tests (COVID-19 or Influenza), you must exclude milk expressed 3 days prior symptoms or positive tests and delay expressing milk for the milk bank. For COVID this would be until 2 consecutive negative tests after day 5 and day 6. Influenza 7 days no testing required.
- There is no requirement to stop expressing if someone in your household tests positive as long as you are free of symptoms.
- Donors must make the milk bank aware of any respiratory symptoms or positive tests (COVID-19 or Influenza) in their household and delay collections. For COVID this would be until 2 consecutive negative tests after day 5 and day 6. Influenza 7 days no testing required.
