Information for current donors during Covid-19 pandemic
Thank you to all the donors who are supporting us by continuing to express milk during the Covid-19 pandemic, we really appreciate your support in these challenging times. Please see below our guidelines last updated 5th February 2021:
– as with other infections, if you or anyone in your household develops any symptoms of Covid-19 infection (high temperature and / or persistent cough) it is important that you let us know as soon as possible so that we can record this in your notes and postpone any scheduled milk collection. Please note the dates on the Donors Do It Safely checklist on the reverse of your Temperature Record.
– if you have had a suspected or confirmed Covid-19 infection please do not donate milk for 14 days after your symptoms have settled (you are feeling well and do not have a cough or fever). Please also exclude any milk expressed 3 days prior to symptoms appearing from your milk bank donation.
– if anyone in your household has had a suspected or confirmed Covid-19 infection you must wait 14 days from the first day of household isolation before donating milk.
– we will contact you on the morning of your milk collection to ask if anyone in your household has symptoms
-if you have the Covid-19 vaccine there is no reason to stop donating your milk.
If you have any questions, please contact the milk bank team on 01244 511440 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We are working flexibly to maintain social distancing guidelines where possible and will respond as soon as we can.
Thank you for your support, we really appreciate everything you are doing to help ensure the most vulnerable babies are still able to benefit from donor milk during this difficult time.
